obsessing over rya, and liking the idea that i can use a table loom to make smaller squares that are later stitched together. i have an archie brennan copper pipe tapestry loom, but the ones from kneeland mercado are also pretty appealing.
i was in a favourite vintage store recently when i spotted this beauty, a christening gown embroidered with the names of countless generations of babies that presumably were christened in this special family heirloom. what a treasure!
(makes me think of belle heir and all the special treasures she finds...)
lace making is one thing i will probably never learn how to do. it's on the list, but i can't even begin to wrap my mind around how something like this is made.
