i must have blinked somewhere because suddenly you are gone.
for 2013 i want some things serious and some things light:
On Sunday Tams and I painted the window for the We are Local Pop-Up Shop on Main Street. Dean and Daniella have done a great job pulling together an inspired collection of gifts from independent local merchants and makers (including Collage Collage, Dilly Dally, and Walrus), and we are excited to contribute. Our window will just be up until the 26th, so come by and have a look: 2539 Main Street, at Broadway.
Also a special thanks to Gordon Wong for creating this "action" film of the process.
I won't say being filmed (or painting in a shop window on Main Street on a Sunday) was completely painless, but Gordon, Daniella, and Dean were all a real pleasure to work with. Thank you!
if i were in new york i would go to kiosk and choose something quirky and funny and useful that i could only otherwise find in a small finnish town or perhaps somewhere in india. in fact, when i am next in the big apple i will stock up for all those last minute gifts one invariably needs.
act surprised when it is your turn.
and just in case you don't win, you can buy this or one our other science and nature themed prints in our online shop.
* how come americans don't need to answer the complicated skill testing questions required of all canadian sweepstake winners? (and when i say complicated, i am exagerating. a lot.)
