i have become addicted to the subscription drawing service, your drawing weekly. every week artist sydney hermant posts a new digital drawing (which can be yours with a certificate of authenticity for an entire $1, or $51 for a year long subscription).
her drawings are beautiful, her writing smart and funny. happiness!
we love kid icarus in toronto's kensington market, the tiniest screen printing studio ever. great supporters of banquet, today is their big moving day to larger quarters down the street, and they've made this sweet video to spread the gospel.
i keep thinking about the vuillard show we saw at the jewish museum while we were in new york. his murals, and early work with les nabis, and especially his mix of patterns. it was so unexpectedly beautiful, i am still buzzing weeks later.
"Spectrum of Time" is a permanent rainbow sundial calendar installation... Hour and month lines painted on the walls and floor of the 40' X 40' X 40' industrial museum space mark the hours, summer and winter solstices, and the spring and autumn equinoxes with astronomical accuracy. A 30' X 30' cross of solar spectrum light powered by the rotation and tilt of the earth tells the time and date. On cloudy days a laser pointer driven by a solar tracking program fills in for the rainbow.
