This morning our crate was still MIA so we took the opportuntiy to bomb up to the the whitney to see yayoi kusama (fireflies!) and sharon hayes, followed by a walk through the park. The icing on the cake was a slice (or two...) from pizza suprema on 8th at 31st. it was CRAZY good. I don't know what tomatoes they use but my mind has been blown.
we've barely slept 4 hours in the last 72, and arrived to find our booth still still in a kind of pre-conceptual form, so we fell back into old routines and wandered the city:
vintage rattan + emerald with fluoros + decoupage mural + neon light fixtures.
carolyn quartermaine and didier mathieu for the glade bar at sketch in london. the mural was inspired and adapted from trees printed on an antique communion card, and it's a tea room in the afternoon. sounds perfect.
headed to los angeles for a few days. hopefully this trip will entail:
i also will be researching for a "palm trees i have known" print. maybe only in my imagination though.
can't wait!
for banquet, a bear is always a good omen. this one is an eric fischl mosaic bear in the subway.
and second, dried rose petals and chilies sprinkled on our cucumber salad at café gitane. also, design enthusiasts take note: tom dixon sat at the table next to us, and i inadvertantly hissed at him in my enthusiasm.
